Dental Materials Lab

This project involved the renovation of an existing underutilized science laboratory classroom to serve as the College’s new state-of-the-art instructional laboratory space for students in the Dental Assisting and Hygiene programs.

Upgrades made to the space included a 16-student lab bench workstation with professional-grade dental services and controls (air/water/suction), brand new dental chairs and radius delivery systems, 16 individual student cubbies and typodont stands, custom millwork cabinetry with 3 plaster bench stations, epoxy resin countertops, HEPA filtering exhaust hood with 2-person service window, state-of-the-art Cerec 3D Milling machine, projector with drop-down screen, safety shower/eyewash station, and a full range of required dental equipment to suit the myriad functions of the lab. Also, new high-efficiency HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems and equipment, lab task and overhead lighting, and all new finishes and fixtures were installed as part of the work.

The project was completed in August 2019 after a condensed summer construction schedule and has exceeded even the loftiest expectations of both the design team and the College’s students and faculty!
